The drive itself
From Upper Turon we head local roads to the Castlereagh Highway near Capertee, then south to the Great Western Highway. That is about 234 km door to terminal and around 3 hr 50 min when the road is clear.
On timing, this is a long run, and most of it is quiet country and mountain highway — the crossing over Victoria Pass and the range — with the only real traffic at the M4 and the airport precinct in Sydney. We build that into the pickup time rather than discovering it on the day.

The question we are asked most is what time the car should be at the door. We aim to have you at the terminal about two hours before a domestic departure and three hours before an international one, then add the drive and a traffic buffer on top.
From Upper Turon, a 6:00am departure usually means a pickup around 12:10am. An 8:00am flight is closer to 2:10am, and a midday departure around 6:10am. Give us the flight number and we will set the exact minute rather than the estimate.

The two Sydney cruise terminals sit on opposite sides of the harbour and the difference matters when you are working out a departure time. Not directly. There is no train from Upper Turon straight to the airport: you would first get to a station on the Blue Mountains Line, such as Lithgow or Katoomba, ride to Central, then change to the T8 Airport & South Line. Allowing for the trip to the station it usually takes three hours or more, and a station access fee applies at the airport stations. For a dawn flight the first trains may not get you there in time.
