The vehicle that turns up
One or two passengers with cases. The default for couples and solo travellers leaving Wolgan Valley before dawn.
Three or four passengers with full-size cases. The step up when the sedan boot runs out before the party does.
Five or six passengers, prams, and the sort of luggage a family actually travels with rather than the amount a boot claims to hold.
Seven to eleven seats. Extended families, wedding parties and work crews travelling out of Wolgan Valley together in one vehicle.

The drive itself
From Wolgan Valley we head Wolgan Road down the valley to the Castlereagh Highway near Lidsdale, then the Great Western Highway. That is about 180 km door to terminal and around 2 hr 50 min when the road is clear.
On timing, this is a long run out of remote valley country, so we allow generously — the valley road, the mountain crossing over Victoria Pass, and then the M4 and airport precinct at the Sydney end. We build that into the pickup time rather than discovering it on the day.
Most Wolgan Valley pickups start around no town, rural properties, the Emirates One&Only resort and the Newnes campground, though the service is door to door and we collect from any address in the suburb. resort guests, day-trippers, campers and bushwalkers
The question we are asked most is what time the car should be at the door. We aim to have you at the terminal about two hours before a domestic departure and three hours before an international one, then add the drive and a traffic buffer on top.
From Wolgan Valley, a 6:00am departure usually means a pickup around 1:10am. An 8:00am flight is closer to 3:10am, and a midday departure around 7:10am. Give us the flight number and we will set the exact minute rather than the estimate.
Coming the other way, we track your flight number from the moment it leaves its origin. If you land late the pickup moves with it and there is no charge for the wait. Your driver meets you inside the arrivals hall with your name on a sign, takes the cases, and drives straight back to Wolgan Valley without detours or additional passengers — which after 2 hr 50 min in the other direction on a long-haul day is most of the point.
The two Sydney cruise terminals sit on opposite sides of the harbour and the difference matters when you are working out a departure time. The Overseas Passenger Terminal at Circular Quay is about 189 km from Wolgan Valley, roughly 2 hr 55 min. White Bay at Rozelle is about 185 km, roughly 2 hr 55 min. Both are quoted as fixed fares and both include help with the cases at the kerb, which matters more with cruise luggage than airline luggage.
Beyond the airport runs we carry wedding parties, conference groups and work crews out of Wolgan Valley and the surrounding the Wolgan and Capertee valleys area. Account billing is available for regular corporate travel, and the eleven-seat minibus means a group of that size travels together rather than splitting across three cars and three fares.
On arrival
Switch your phone on as you taxi in. Your driver messages you with the exact spot before you reach the carousel.
Leave the arrivals hall and walk straight ahead into the P7 car park. Inside, follow the signs to the rideshare and pre-booked pickup area on the left. We allow up to an hour from touchdown at no charge.
Exit arrivals, cross toward the P1 walkway, take the first right at the priority and express pickup sign and follow the covered walkway through. We allow forty minutes from touchdown.
Exit arrivals, cross at the lights, continue along the P1 walkway and take the first left into the priority pickup area. We allow forty minutes from touchdown.
Western Sydney Airport has a single terminal with pre-booked pickup directly opposite arrivals, so the walk is considerably shorter than anything at Kingsford Smith.

The alternatives
Honest comparison of the realistic options for the 180 km to Kingsford Smith.

|---|---|---|---|
| Us | $590 | Fixed before you book. Door to terminal, one vehicle, flight watched, paid in advance. | |
| Rideshare | $625–$730 | Subject to surge and to whether a driver accepts a 180 km run at 4am from Wolgan Valley. No guarantee of vehicle size. | |
| Taxi | $645–$700 | Metered, so the number moves with the traffic. Tolls and the airport levy are added on top. | |
| Drive and park | $720+ | Long-term parking for a fortnight, plus fuel and tolls both ways, plus the shuttle from the car park. | |
| Train from Lithgow | $12–$22 | Workable for a midday flight. The first service of the morning lands you at the terminal far too late for a 6am departure, and it means a change plus the airport line fee with luggage in tow. |

Up to eleven passengers, yes — one minibus, one fare of $710. That is almost always cheaper than two or three separate cars and it keeps the group together, which matters more than the money when there is a check-in deadline.
Yes. The fare is the same whether you are in the centre near no town, rural properties, the Emirates One&Only resort and the Newnes campground or on an outlying road. If your driveway is long, unsealed or unlit, mention it when you book and we will confirm exactly where the driver should stop.

Not directly. There is no train from Wolgan Valley straight to the airport: you would first get to a station on the Blue Mountains Line, such as Lithgow or Katoomba, ride to Central, then change to the T8 Airport & South Line. Allowing for the trip to the station it usually takes three hours or more, and a station access fee applies at the airport stations. For a dawn flight the first trains may not get you there in time.
There is no regular airport bus timetable from Wolgan Valley. Our shuttle is a private, door-to-door transfer booked around your flight rather than a timetable: we collect you from home in Wolgan Valley and drop you at your terminal, and we confirm the pickup time when you book.
For one person travelling light, the train usually has the lowest fare, but it means changing at Central and carrying your bags. For two or more people, or an early flight, a fixed fare often works out better: $590 covers one or two passengers door to door, and $710 covers up to eleven, under $65 each.
Rideshare and taxi fares change with demand, time of day and tolls, so you only know the price once you travel. Our Wolgan Valley fare is fixed when you book: $590 for one or two passengers, with tolls, GST, luggage and child seats included, and there is no surcharge for early mornings or late nights.
