The short answer

Getting from Mount Irvine to WSI

A private transfer from Mount Irvine to Western Sydney Airport covers about 116 km in roughly 2 hr, against 137 km and 2 hr 15 min to Sydney Airport at Mascot. Coming off the range you turn for Badgerys Creek before the city, so there is no tolled motorway and no tunnel at the far end. The fare is $259 for one or two passengers — sixty dollars under the $319 we charge to Mascot, because WSI is the shorter, simpler drive from here. Up to eleven travel in one vehicle for $309, and the fare is paid in advance to lock in your vehicle.

The route

How we drive Mount Irvine to Badgerys Creek

Leaving Mount Irvine, the drive to Western Sydney International runs via Mount Irvine Road through Mount Wilson to the Bells Line of Road, then Bell and the Darling Causeway to Mount Victoria, then turns off for Badgerys Creek instead of carrying on into the city. Western Sydney Airport at Badgerys Creek is the closer of the two airports from Mount Irvine. It is about 116 km in roughly 2h, and because the turn for the airport comes before the Sydney motorway tangle, none of the usual airport-precinct crawl at the far end applies to this run.

What changed when it opened

Western Sydney International took its first passengers on 25 October 2026 after handling freight from July. For thirty years everyone in this district drove east; the airport is now on the wrong side of us for that to make sense on every trip. From Mount Irvine the difference is 21 km each way — 42 km on a return journey — and because you turn for Badgerys Creek before the Sydney motorways, none of it is tolled. That shorter, simpler drive is why the WSI fare is $60 under the Mascot run.

No curfew, which changes the timetable

Kingsford Smith closes to aircraft between eleven at night and six in the morning. WSI does not, and airlines have already put departures into those hours because the slots are cheaper. If you take one of those flights from Mount Irvine, you are leaving at a time when nothing else is moving — which is routine work for us, because an early flight off the mountains has always meant a pre-dawn start down the range.

Getting into the terminal

One building for domestic and international, drop-off directly outside departures, and none of the terminal-guessing that Kingsford Smith requires. You do not need to tell us a terminal number here; you just need the flight time.

Why it matters here

What WSI means for Mount Irvine

Mount Irvine is a very small rural community beyond Mount Wilson. Most pickups start around no centre, a scattering of rural properties, and the service is door to door across the whole suburb. WSI opened at Badgerys Creek in October 2026 on the near side of the range for us — for a suburb 116 km from an international terminal, at sixty dollars under the Mascot fare, that is a change worth planning around.

Questions

There is only one. Domestic and international share a single building, so unlike Sydney Airport you do not need to tell us a terminal number — just the flight time.

Can you do a very early or very late WSI departure from Mount Irvine?

Yes, and it is routine. WSI has no curfew, so flights leave at hours Mascot cannot offer. Pre-dawn pickups from the the upper Blue Mountains are what we have always done — there has never been an early train off the mountains worth catching.

Do you carry child seats on WSI trips?

Capsules, seats and boosters, fitted before we arrive and included in the fare. Give us the ages at the time of booking rather than on the morning.

What about a group travelling from Mount Irvine?

Up to eleven passengers in one vehicle for one fare, rather than splitting across three cars. The WSI group fare is $309 — still sixty dollars under the Mascot equivalent.

Can you also collect us from WSI on the way back?

Yes — see WSI back to Mount Irvine. Book both legs together and we hold both.
