The short answer
A private transfer from Mount Tomah to Western Sydney Airport covers about 85 km in roughly 1 hr 20 min, against 105 km and 1 hr 40 min to Sydney Airport at Mascot. Coming off the range you turn for Badgerys Creek before the city, so there is no tolled motorway and no tunnel at the far end. The fare is $209 for one or two passengers — sixty dollars under the $269 we charge to Mascot, because WSI is the shorter, simpler drive from here. Up to eleven travel in one vehicle for $259, and the fare is paid in advance to lock in your vehicle.
Side by side
Same door, same driver, two very different journeys.
About 1 hr 20 min. Reached on The Northern Road and Camden Valley Way — ordinary road, no tolls, no tunnel. One terminal, and the pre-booked pickup bay sits opposite arrivals.
About 1 hr 40 min, ending with the M5 East — the one stretch of the trip nobody can predict. Three terminals spread across the runways, and a long walk to the pickup bay at T1.
The route
Leaving Mount Tomah, the drive to Western Sydney International runs to Bell and down the Darling Causeway to Mount Victoria for the Great Western Highway, or east along the Bells Line of Road, then turns off for Badgerys Creek instead of carrying on into the city. Western Sydney Airport at Badgerys Creek is the closer of the two airports from Mount Tomah. It is about 85 km in roughly 1h 20m, and because the turn for the airport comes before the Sydney motorway tangle, none of the usual airport-precinct crawl at the far end applies to this run.
Western Sydney International took its first passengers on 25 October 2026 after handling freight from July. For thirty years everyone in this district drove east; the airport is now on the wrong side of us for that to make sense on every trip. From Mount Tomah the difference is 20 km each way — 40 km on a return journey — and because you turn for Badgerys Creek before the Sydney motorways, none of it is tolled. That shorter, simpler drive is why the WSI fare is $60 under the Mascot run.
Kingsford Smith closes to aircraft between eleven at night and six in the morning. WSI does not, and airlines have already put departures into those hours because the slots are cheaper. If you take one of those flights from Mount Tomah, you are leaving at a time when nothing else is moving — which is routine work for us, because an early flight off the mountains has always meant a pre-dawn start down the range.
One building for domestic and international, drop-off directly outside departures, and none of the terminal-guessing that Kingsford Smith requires. You do not need to tell us a terminal number here; you just need the flight time.

Why it matters here
Mount Tomah is a Bells Line of Road locality, home to the Blue Mountains Botanic Garden. Most pickups start around no town centre, focused on the botanic garden entrance, and the service is door to door across the whole suburb. WSI opened at Badgerys Creek in October 2026 on the near side of the range for us — for a suburb 85 km from an international terminal, at sixty dollars under the Mascot fare, that is a change worth planning around.
